The first thing that came to my mind when one asks for a song or poem that expresses love for another person would be the Guys and Dolls Musical song "I've Never been in Love Before", since we hear it over and over again this year. Both the two main characters express their love through singing back and forth at each other, like a response. The girl main character Sarah tells how she's never been in love before but now that she is, so she feels ambivalent but cannot hide her feelings. The other main charcter Sky, who is in love with Sarah, responds to her by also expressing his love. However, the lyrics don't reveal much about how they're in love.
Another "poem" that came to my mind would be Shakespeare's masterpiece Romeo and Juliet with such ample sonnets about love. Obviously, Romeo and Juliet expresses their love passionately through "sensory- appealing languages". They both fell passionately in love with each other at the same time, but Juliet knew that there had been a feud between their families. Although she tried to reject Romeo at first, at last she "gave in" and followed Romeo. I think both of these poem and song are very similar. The author just uses different diction to express the speakers' love for their lovers.
