A hero is someone who is audacious, bold, courageous, and strong. Furthermore, he or she is willing to sacrifice herself or himself for the better good of society. However, a hero should not be foolhardy and compulsive. Personally, I think a hero should be keen and considerate of his actions and the outcomes resulting from them. To conclude, a hero should be both mentally and physically capable of handling strenuous tasks.
In the epic poem Beowulf, the protagonist Beowulf is seen as a hero who reflects the Anglo-Saxon values. Beowulf meets the qualities of a hero; he is courageous, strong, and determined to fight and efeat the antagonist Grendel, one of the vicious monsters in the tale. In conclusion, Beowulf risked his own life in fighting rendel and is courageous; he wins the fame and glory that he deserves.
