reparation: The Geats would expect no reparation from Grendal, since the vicious monster would never make amends or admit for his wrongdoings; a compensation was simply impossible.
extolled: Beowulf was extolled by many people who respected or worshipped him for his scrupulous, courageous, and strong acts because defeating Grendel was praiseworthy.
vehemently: Grendel attacked the warriors one by one vehemently, and violently ripped their body apart and ate them all until none of them was left.
infallible: Beowulf, although once infallible, was lying on the ground dying; for the first time fate had denied him and he did not guarantee victory.
emphasis: The spotlight gave the central figure augmented emphasis so the art students know what to concentrate on.
attribute: The pious Catholics claimed their success as an attribute to God himself.
concept: The general concept derived from the Anglo-Saxon book Beowulf granted people more knowledge of the historical period and core values of the Anglo-Saxon people.
loathsome: The loathsome monster Grendel was prepared to attack Hrothgar's men again at night; however, this time the warriors were prepared because Beowulf strengthened the people and increased their hatred.
