elegy vs. riddle

An elegy is a sad lamentational poem in comparison to a neutral, perhaps even happy tone of a riddle. Riddles can be heard at special celebrational occasions such as a wedding or the latern festival, espcially in China. It's a ritual and tradition for people to guess riddles in which they may get money or prizes in the end( usually for children). An elegy may be heard at perhaps a funeral, to address and mourn for the person. Furthermore, I think riddles has many forms and it's flexible in tone because the purporse of a riddle is for people to "figure out the puzzle". Therefore, there shouldn't be a "too emotional tone" compared to that of an elegy.
