corrections, question 6 worksheet
Don Quixote, a novel written by a Spanish author Miguel de Cervantes, is an example of an epic hero other than Beowulf, the Anglo-Saxon hero which we are studying right now in British Literature. In contrast to the Anglo-Saxon literature, the medieval literature focuses on chivalry and courtly love. Don Quixote is deeply influenced by the ideals of knights, which is why he journeyed to accomplish his goals. However, although Don Quixote constantly fails and the novel is supposed to be a satire, he does have many traits of an epic hero. Firstly, he is brave, courageous, and bold. He's not afraid in the "dangers" that faces him(although maybe in his imagination) , and he's willing to sacrifice his life in battles. Secondly, he's determined to accomplish his goals in his journey. I think these characteristics makes Don Quixote an "epic hero."
